- 12 sheets lasagna sheets
- 500 g ground beef
- 1 medium onion (diced)
- 3 cloves garlic cloves (minced)
- 800 g canned crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 250 g ricotta cheese
- 300 g mozzarella (shredded)
- 50 g parmesan (grated)
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
Steps
- 1Preheat oven to 190 °C (375 °F).
- 2Heat olive oil in a large pan. Cook onion and garlic until softened (3 min).
- 3Add ground beef and brown, breaking it up (5-7 min). Drain excess fat.
- 4Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer 20 min.
- 5Mix ricotta, egg, and half the parmesan in a bowl.
- 6Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- 7Layer: lasagna sheets → ricotta mixture → meat sauce → mozzarella. Repeat 3 times.
- 8Top with remaining mozzarella and parmesan.
- 9Cover with foil and bake 25 min. Remove foil and bake 15 min more until golden.
- 10Rest 10 minutes before slicing.
