A walnut-filled variation of the beloved Bulgarian Easter bread – fragrant with vanilla, with a beautiful swirled crumb.

- 600 g flour
- 150 g sugar
- 120 g butter
- 3 pcs eggs
- 200 ml warm milk
- 7 g dry yeast
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 150 g walnuts (ground)
- 60 g sugar (for filling)

- 1Activate yeast in warm milk.
- 2Beat eggs, sugar and softened butter; combine with yeast and flour.
- 3Knead smooth dough; rise 1.5 hours.
- 4Mix ground walnuts with sugar for the filling.
- 5Roll dough out, spread filling, roll up tightly and braid.
- 6Place in greased pan; rise 30 minutes.
- 7Bake at 170°C for 40 minutes until golden.
