Lamb with Rice

Tender lamb braised with fluffy rice and fresh herbs – a simple, nourishing and traditional Orthodox Easter side-and-main in one.

Ingredients

Serves:4
  • 600 g lamb pieces
  • 150 g rice
  • 1 pc onion
  • 30 g butter
  • 1 bunch dill
  • to taste salt and pepper

Steps

  1. 1Brown the lamb in butter.
  2. 2Add chopped onion; cook 5 minutes.
  3. 3Add rice and stir until coated.
  4. 4Add 600 ml hot water, season.
  5. 5Cover and cook on low for 30–35 minutes until rice is fluffy.
  6. 6Stir in fresh dill and serve.
