The ornamental Easter ritual bread embellished with dough figurines and dyed eggs – broken by hand at the Easter table as a symbol of health and fertility.

- 500 g flour
- 60 g sugar
- 60 g butter
- 2 pcs eggs
- 150 ml warm milk
- 7 g dry yeast
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 3 pcs dyed Easter eggs
- to taste sesame and poppy seeds

- 1Make a soft dough; leave to rise 1 hour.
- 2Divide into base and decorative portions.
- 3Roll a round base; fashion decorative dough shapes.
- 4Attach shapes to the base and nestle in dyed eggs.
- 5Egg-wash and scatter seeds.
- 6Bake at 180°C for 35–40 minutes.
- 7Break by hand at the Easter table, never with a knife.
