Creamy, cheesy baked macaroni and cheese with a golden breadcrumb topping. Pure comfort in every bite.

Ingredients

Serves:6
  • 400 g elbow macaroni
  • 3 cups sharp cheddar (shredded)
  • 2.5 cups milk
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 tsp mustard powder
  • 0.25 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

Steps

  1. 1Preheat oven to 190 °C (375 °F). Cook macaroni until al dente; drain.
  2. 2Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook 1 minute.
  3. 3Gradually whisk in milk. Cook, stirring, until thickened (4-5 min).
  4. 4Remove from heat. Stir in 2.5 cups cheddar, mustard powder, salt, and pepper until melted.
  5. 5Fold in cooked macaroni. Pour into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  6. 6Top with remaining cheddar and breadcrumbs. Sprinkle paprika over top.
  7. 7Bake 25-30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
