Sweet, tart, and silky — bourbon, fresh lemon, and an optional egg-white foam on top. A beautifully balanced American classic.

Ingredients

Serves:1
  • 60 ml bourbon
  • 30 ml fresh lemon juice
  • 20 ml simple syrup
  • 1 piece egg white (optional)
  • 1 cup ice
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters

Steps

  1. 1Add bourbon, lemon juice, simple syrup, and egg white to a shaker without ice.
  2. 2Dry shake for 15 seconds to emulsify the egg white.
  3. 3Add ice and shake again vigorously for 15 seconds.
  4. 4Strain into a rocks glass over ice or into a chilled coupe.
  5. 5Dash Angostura bitters on top of the foam and garnish with a cherry.
